Why Does Midland Base Exist?

Here's our mission & purpose:

MISSION:

This group's mission is to provide those with limited time a place where they can quickly find answers to questions pertaining to Halo and quickly find polite, mature people to party up with and enjoy playing Halo with. It is also a place where highly skilled expert players who desire to use their skill to help others and make a difference as well as find a pool of friendly people eager to play with them may do so. There is a heightened emphasis on improving skill and earning any desired achievements in Halo 4, Halo: Reach, Halo: ODST, and Halo 3. The ultimate intent is for everyone, regardless of skill level, to feel comfortable with whom they are playing with online.

PURPOSE:

Winning is good, getting better at the game is better, and earning achievements is awesome.

But there is no kill count, no skill level, and no achievement worth treating another player badly.

The intent of this group, its sole purpose for existing, is to serve as a meeting place for mature, respectful, honest, and polite people who like to play Halo - regardless of their playing ability - in order to get together and play without the typical vulgarity, rudeness, cheating, and other tomfoolery encountered when playing with randoms.

We all want to get better, we all want to win, and we all want to earn achievements. However, the common thread we all should have as members of Midland Base is the belief that the pursuit of those goals should not come at the expense of our civility to one another or our honesty and integrity in playing the game.

If you cannot find it in yourself to put honesty, integrity, and civility ahead of your personal goals and ambitions you should not be a member of Midland Base.

SO WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?:

It means we're a friendly group that enjoys all of the Halo universe and gladly accepts members regardless of geographical location.

Since we're a group; and not a clan, you do not have to change your armor permutation, colors, emblem, gamer tag, or call out. You incur only a minimal participation requirement of 8 forum posts per calendar month.

We don't have try outs, don't care if you're in other groups / clans, and don't care how good or bad you are or whether you're male or female.

We focus on playing the game for fun and enjoying the camaraderie of fun playing with on-line friends. When you play with Midland Base you won't be yelled at for going negative, you won't be yelled at for your K/D, and you won't have to endure whining about "who carried who".

A WORD ON CREDIT FARMING IN HALO REACH:

Credits, achievements, and rank should be obtained within the spirit of the game as set forth by those who made the game.

Anyone who has engaged in hard core credit farming will not be admitted to Midland Base.

Once approved for membership; discussing farming, or setting up games to farm in Midland Base forums is strictly forbidden. If you post in this group attempting to set up or hint at setting up farming excursions you will receive a 14 day ban. Do it again after that and you will be kicked.

Anyone banned by Bungie's BanHammer (you're a Colonel one day, and the next we see you're a Corporal) will be kicked from the group as Bungie has stated that anyone hit with a rank & credit reset is cheating and exploiting the game.
