Midland Base Policies
Group Policies as of 14 APR 12:
Due to management of Halo transferring from Bungie to 343 Industries, we no longer require members to have B.Net accounts or for any B.Net account to be linked to gamer tags.
Midland Base does not support cheating or any act that sullies the spirit of any game. Discussion, coordination, attempting to cheat, or actually cheating and / or an act similar in nature will result in a permanent ban from Midland Base.
While credit farming / full party (NON-AFC) boosting is not cheating in Halo: Reach (it is in Halo 4), our forums will not be used to discuss or coordinate these activities. Discussing or attempting to coordinate these activities in our forums will result in a temporary ban from the forums and group activities.
Actions meant to humiliate or insult fellow group members will result in being temporarily banned from the forums and group activities.
Advertising, promoting or recruiting for another group through Midland Base will result in a permanent ban with no warnings and no possibility of rejoining.
New members are required to introduce themselves to the group in the member introduction forum before being allowed to participate in game nights or receiving full access to the forums. New members are highly encouraged to familiarize themselves with the group's leaders.
Group Game Nights/Official Midland Base Events:
To participate in Group Game Nights/Official Midland Base Events or any Midland Base activity you must be a Midland Base member unless we have granted a specifc exemption.
In all cases, everyone is required to review the Group Game Night Procedures article for in-game activities.
New members who have not posted an introduction thread in the new member introduction forum will not be allowed to participate.
Midland Base abides by the Xbox Live Terms of Service and Code of Conduct at all times. Violations of either of these will result in a temporary or permanent ban from Midland Base depending on the severity and frequency of the infraction(s).
Intentional in game betrayals are not tolerated. Individuals responsible for committing an intentional betrayal will be removed from the party by the party leader and will be temporarily banned from from the forums and group activities.
Profane language must be kept to a minimum. If the party contains only adults, then they can choose to be more liberal with their vocabulary. Regardless of language used, no member of Midland Base should speak to another member in a way that makes them uncomfortable. Also, represent Midland Base. This means no starting of conflicts. Should anyone become offended, they may PM any Mod in the party and ask to have it toned down. When minors are in the party profanity is prohibited.
Actions meant to humiliate or insult fellow group members in game will result in being removed from the party by the party leader, in addition to a temporary ban from the forums and group activities. Unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated.
Midland Base (Enjin.Com):
Midland Base abides by the Enjin.Com Terms of Service and Forum Rules at all times. Violations of either of these may result in a temporary or permanent ban from Midland Base depending on the severity and frequency of the infractions(s).
You are allowed to edit your Enjin.com profile as you see fit. This includes profile information, avatars, signature blocks, etc; however, violations of Enjin.Com Terms of Service may result in a temporary ban from group activities. Forum signature blocks should be limited to file sizes under 1.5 MB and should not exceed dimensions larger than 520x220. This applies to animated signature blocks as well, and applies to the total footprint of all signature blocks used if more than one is used. Additionally; Microsoft game content usage rules prohibit any commercialization of websites using Microsoft game content, therefore you are not allowed to advertise or link to any business or commercial enterprise with a signature block used in our forums.
Posts in any forum/thread are to be restricted to the topic of that forum/thread. New threads posted about existing topics will be locked or deleted. "Bumping" a thread is not acceptable. When you reply to a thread make sure you add relevant content. Any post that does not meaningfully contribute to a discussion is a bump and is not allowed.
Only Moderators/Administrators are allowed to create 'official' thread topics; this includes, but is not limited to, game nights, tournaments and contests. The use of obscure acronyms without explanation or profanity are also prohibited.
Minimum Post Count Requirement:
What you get out of Midland Base is what you put into Midland Base. This means you should strive to be active in our forums, and game with Midland Base Members when you are able to. Sending XBL friend requests to Midland Base members is highly encouraged.
Each member of the group must make 8 posts in the discussion forums each calendar month. New members are exempt from this requirement during the calendar month in which they join the group.
Members who do not make 8 posts in a given calendar month will be assigned the MIA ribbon on the 1st of the next consecutive month. This will serve as a visual reminder to you and the group leadership that you missed the post count the previous month. New members who have not posted an introduction thread in the new member introduction forum will be immediatley deleted at the end of their second calendar month in the group instead of being designated MIA.
In order to get the MIA ribbon removed you must first meet the 8 post count requirement. Once you meet the 8 post count requirement you can either wait until the first of the next consecutive month when your meeting the requirement will be noticed and it will be removed, or you may have it removed immediately by going to the "Where's my Promotion / Ribbon" thread in the group operations forum and post there that you have met the count and want the MIA ribbon removed.
Members who tell us in advance they will be absent for awhile will also be assigned the MIA ribbon simply so we will all know they're away for a bit but will not need to worry about post count during an absence we have been made aware of in advance.
Members who fail to meet the 8 post count requirement for two consecutive months will be deleted from the group.
Those who are deleted must wait one calendar month for each time they have been deleted, cumulatively, before they can rejoin the group. For example, someone who gets deleted the first time must wait one calendar month before being able to rejoin the group. Someone who has been deleted their sixth time for inactivity will have to wait six months before being able to rejoin the group.
Everyone needs to be sure to read these policies completely. Bumps are prohibited in our forums. Bumps are nonsensical posts or one word or one liner replies that contribute nothing to a thread. Bumping to meet the post count will get you warned, then temp-banned, and then perma-banned if you don't stop. In other words, if you try to bump your way to the post count you'll end up getting perma-banned long before you would have been deleted for inactivity.
The only exemptions to this are Moderators who bump a thread in the course of their moderator duties, or if a Moderator specifically requests a reply that would constitute a bump.
Temporary / Permanent Bans:
Permanent / temporary banning of Midland Base members from the group is at the sole discretion of the Midland Base leadership. This includes any serious filed complaints, conflicts and / or issues / situations (verbal or written) contrary to Midland Base policies, Xbox Live Code of Conduct, Xbox Live Terms of Service, Enjin code of conduct or Enjin terms of service (e.g. : discussing / coordinating an attempt at cheating or an act similar in nature, discussing or coordinating AFC / or credit farming activities, or actions meant to humiliate or insult fellow group members) Advertising, promoting, or recruiting for another group through or in Midland Base will result in a permanent ban with no warning and no possibility of rejoining. Remember Midland Base is a private group that has the exclusive right to admit / reject / kick out anyone based on the discretion of the leadership.
